What is the process like before filming?

The process begins by selecting a willing family member and discussing the desired package. After setting a date and time, a Question Guide is provided to choose topics for discussion. The selected questions/topics are presented to the family member for thoughtful preparation.

Can I customize the package based on my needs?

Yes and no. While we like to keep the edit structure the same, our "secret menu" lets us create highlights tailored to your specific desires, be it for a retirement, graduation video, etc. I'm more than willing to accommodate any requests you have, just ask!

How much time does each interview typically take?

Typically, the interview runs between 30-60 minutes. If you include setup, introductions, and packing up, the whole process usually takes 45-90 minutes for a thorough and efficient experience.

Can I request multiple copies of the final video?

Certainly! You can download the digital copy as much as you want. For a hard copy on a thumb drive, there's an extra cost, but it's totally doable.

No problem! Rescheduling past a week from the interview is free. If it's within the week, a $25 fee applies, but weather-related rescheduling has no charge.

No limit! Although you should keep in mind that more people means shorter talk time for each person, but it's fantastic for events like anniversaries, graduations, or heart-to-hearts conversations.

What types of questions are included in the Question Guide?

The guide isn't about handing you questions; it's designed to inspire your thoughts about what you want to learn, I will craft questions based on your selections. If you have specific questions in mind, I'm happy to add them and expand on them more. All questions will be shared with you and the interviewee before filming.

Are there any geographic limitations for interviews?

No place is off-limits! Within the Portland metro area, there's no fee. Outside that area incurs a travel fee, usually 50 cents per mile driving-wise. For flights, hotels, etc., those would be added to the quote.

Can I include or exclude specific content from the final video?

Absolutely! You can exclude topics you don't want, but remember, the magic lies in the raw, authentic feeling. Before we get to the day of the interview you will fill out a form where you can discuss any sensitive areas to avoid and exclude.

How do you ensure interviewee comfort?

We like to keep the interview room clear of others to create a judgment-free space. While a family member can be present, I prefer asking questions to maintain the art of the conversation.
